Some models that I get are just too worn or broken to be retained as originals but rather than discard them I try to bring them back to life with various spare parts and a fresh coat of paint.
I am not trying to restore any model, merely make it something someone might like to display again.
This is one of my favourites! It was a ghastly shade of pink but it had good chrome front and back. I decided that it really should be black and that the terrible Whizzwheels had to go. These were replaced by normal wheels with the larger size tyres and they look so much better!
It sits beautifully and is a nice and unusual item. I am reluctant to sell it, hence the higher than normal price for these ‘rescued’ items. If I come across another I can repeat the procedure with that has decent chrome then I may reduce the price.
