Description
The Land Rover Breakdown Truck was a long-running model, first appearing as 417 and then getting suspension and an interior as 417S and then a plastic cover replacing the tin as 477. This is a 417S with the later style of closed jib. It has the metal cover but the lamp is missing.
This edition also has the later style of window unit which does not fit flush at the rear of the cab and does not show the ‘frame’ of the scarcer early type of 417S, which also has the earlier type of jib.
The bodywork is sound and this has good suspension with clean wheels and tyres. The windows are clear and not cracked or scratched. The paintwork is very good and all original.
I hope to be able to replace the canopy with one that has an original lamp but in the meantime this is available at a reasonable price as it stands.
